La Politique, The Department of Political Science, Kirori Mal College organized a webinar on the topic “21st Century: - Assessing the prospect of a new cold war”. The guest speaker for the event was, Ambassador Rtn. Anil Trigunayat (Retd.IFS OFFICER) Chairman at Confederation of Education Excellence.
The event was organized on 27th February 2022 on google meet platform. It focused on superpowers of the world, their soft and hard power. It involved topics like nuclear arms race and the idea of restraint. The discussion began somewhere from the Second World War, briefly went through the era of US Hegemony and the Alternative Global Powers.
Finally, the discussion talked about the current situation n Ukraine-Russia and India's role in Global Politics, assessing the role of US and China and also the possibilities of a ne Cold War.
Overall, it was an interactive session where the speaker frequently engaged the audience. The students also asked various intriguing questions. The session was very informative and fruitful.
